Mary: [Shocked] What? You kept that top secret…you didn’t even tell me till last minute! What promotion is it? I’ve not heard of anyone resigning yet, in fact there hasn’t even been any internal advertisements for any vacancies.

Simon: [Looking rather slyly at Mary] Well Kenneth and Jane thought I’d be perfect as Senco once that old bat Frances leaves! So… They’re interviewing me today and hopefully once they give her the elbow the job’s mine. I just have to sign the official contracts. To be fair, the job is mine…the interview is just a casual chat and ticks those boxes type of thing in case anyone questions it. Which I doubt they would.
