Just looking at food made me nauseous. At first mum thought I was pregnant, but I knew that wasn’t the case. Gavin and I hadn’t been physical in such a long time that it would take a miracle for me to be pregnant.

I started to tell her little things about what had been happening to me. I wasn’t sure if she would understand but a part of me was yearning to reach out to someone who I knew wouldn’t judge me or be apprehensive about my issues.

I just wanted someone to listen.

And mum…did exactly that bless her.

Mum just sat there and listened to my troubles. She didn’t judge me. She didn’t raise her voice or even raise an eyebrow.
