At first it seemed really easy just answering some simple questions, then they got more complex, and I couldn’t wriggle myself out of them. Gavin had obviously in his drunken state revealed why he was at my parent’s house and obviously it didn’t take the police long to realise this was a bigger issue than they originally thought.

I must admit it took me some time to able to pluck up the courage to tell the police officers everything. My throat had immediately dried up, I felt sweaty and clammy just talking to them and bringing up some of the issues just brought back horrible memories that I had tried so hard to bury. I couldn’t speak about everything, but mum and dad told me not to worry because I had taken the first step needed in dealing with this, plus they thought Gavin needed a lot of help
