Amir’s trauma certainly causes his life to go into turmoil as the world that Amir is familiar with is actually severed by the actions of others. Amir’s traumatic event has disembodied everything that was familiar to Amir, and he is unable to recognise himself, instead he still sees himself as a young child that hasn’t evolved or developed due to the unfortunate trauma he witnesses. Amir states that ‘I’ve learned, about how you can bury it’ but it seems apparent that the past does still cause him grief in ways which even he can’t comprehend or detach himself from. Amir realises that the trauma he witnessed as a child ‘peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty−six years’ still haunts him now as an adult and
