Narratives of Disruption and Transformation as well as using Abraham’ and Torak’s views on Melancholy in The Shell and The Kernel, Freud’s Melancholy and Melancholia, Beyond the Pleasure Principle and Derrida’s work on Spectres of the Marx as well as Foucault’s The History of Sexuality to demonstrate how these theories apply to the central themes of The Kite Runner that I am focusing upon and how they are intertwined and relate to the ideas that Hosseini presents via his omnipresent narrator
