It’s six−thirty am on a Monday morning. Mary is driving and Simon is her passenger on this typical journey to work at Crowthorn School in the inner city area of Leeds. Simon who is a much younger teacher than Mary is busy snoring away and driving Mary crazy. Mary tries to blast out the sound of his snoring by playing her favourite music tape in her car all the more louder. Sadly, it does not seem to have the desired effect of disturbing him and waking him up. The traffic is pretty hectic as per usual, Mary notices the increased queuing of traffic ahead of them and presumes her day will be filled with nothing but obstacles.
An ambulance and several police cars flash past heading towards the ongoing queue of traffic. Simon snores louder momentarily and then awakens abruptly.
