Assef deems Hitler as a ‘leader’ and a potential role model whom he wants to emulate and he passionately believes that ‘if they had let Hitler finish what he started, the world would be a better place now’. It is not clear where these strong political beliefs derive from in a young teenager. But nevertheless, Assef is content on his views being the way forward for a more civilised life in Afghanistan:
